When you make a split, how long should it be until your have a laying queen?  Wheather if it were raining a couple of days or not?  4 weeks?  5 weeks?

If you let the splits raise their own queens you should have a mated queen sometime between two to three weeks. I usually go by the rule of thumb of roughly three weeks before you start seeing eggs. Some queens are faster, others take a little longer, but in about three weeks you should be able to either see her or see evidence of her laying.
