Thank you all for the wonderful comments. It was a blast for us and the neighborhood kids. We were also able to educate the homeowner who was initially freaked out when the swarm issued from an oak tree on their property. They had been watching the bees come and go from this oak tree for 3 years and really enjoyed it until they happened to see the swarm and then they wanted the bees removed from the tree. Glad we were able to calm them down and they appreciated the bees after that.

good job. wonder how many swarms have come from that tree and they missed them! i hope they will let the bee tree stay?

They will let the bee tree stay. It is up about 15 feet and far enough away from the walking path. They also have my number if they change their mind.

YEAH! GIRL POWER! It is nice to see other women out there that love bees like I do. I have been getting some funny looks from some of my friends when I tell them that I am getting my hive for Mother's Day this year. I can't wait though. I keep hoping that my husband gets some swarm calls while he is at work so I can go get them!
