Hi, I'm new to beekeeping. My interests in keeping bees is for helping the environment and honey extracting for making mead, candles, and yummy treats. Live in Central Florida and looking to connect with other beekeepers and homebrewers near and far. Thanks!

Welcome Honeygirl from Deltona.  I am a first year Central Florida beek also.  Started my first hive about a month ago and started a 2nd hive last weekend from a swarm/cutout that I got with the help of Hardwood, my mentor.  If you don't already have a mentor, I strongly encourage you to find one.  I thought I had researched and study enough so that I wouldn't have any questions once my bees arrived.  I was wrong  Smiley. I am not sure where in Central Fl. you are located but there is a beekeeping in club in Volusia County, Beekeepers of Volusia County Florida that meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  You missed a presentation on making mead in February and I am sure they wouldn't mind you bringing some of your yummy treats to the meetings.  Good luck with your new addiction.
