caught a #7 pound swarm this afternoon. forgot my camera. I am running 8frame mediums. is one box big enough to start with?

id give them the equivelant of two deeps which would be 4 mediums with that many bees they need the space and ventilation nice catch i hope i get a swarm that size one day  Chris

NICE Catch were they on a limb,in a full Wheelbarrow,or Hand truck  In another thread I asked how much a good hive of bees weigh I now no they can weigh more than 7lb.s  Thanks Tommyt

they absconded on me  had to catch them back. put them in new hive in same spot they settled in. they seemed much calmer this time. they drank almost a quart of 1:1 syrup before leaving
