very true and a large part of the reason for limited federal government and more power to the state.  with different state, you have choices about the kind of community you live in.  with an all powerful fed, you don't.

Not arguing that the MB are a nice group of fellows, only that they are a minority opinion in Egypt. In the 2005 elections, the brotherhood got 20% of the seats. Trying to block democracy and any attempt to reform Egypt's society will only weaken the moderates and feed the extremists.

did you note in the article that he wants true democracy?  do you know what that means?

to tell the truth, i am less worried about Egypt except that i am not happy to see so many covered women in those crowds.  that's an indication that stricter adherence to Islamic law is in the ascendancy.  i am more worried about the rest of the middle east and what is happening.  i see democracy Venezuelan style coming to most of those countries.

Oh, my!! A mini United Nations for the Muslim countries so they can spend endless hours debating the wording of resolutions and accomplish nothing. Well, at least he is a pragmatist ... that is one form of the caliphate that actually could be established (if it doesn't collapse in arguments over which country gets to host it, which design for the building gets chosen, who gets to make the seating chart, etc.).
