"Honey in the Comb" by Eugene Killion

I've been rereading the "Honey in the Comb" by Eugene Killion trying to do a better job of producing some comb honey next year. I am paraphrasing heavily, but he goes into reducing the hive to one deep as well as removing the queen and all that intails before and during the flow. He also added that this is also how it should be done to maximize liquid honey production as well.
Considering the book was originally produced in '51 and redone in '81 I am currious how many people follow these recommendations for both liquid and comb honey production. If not, how do you consistantly maximize your liquid and comb honey production?

When they don't have to feed the brood since there is no queen, then all the honey gets to be capped instead of using it for food is the theory (or fact) behind it. I don't think too many do it that way. But for comb production, you need to have hives busting at the seems with bees.
