Uncapping roller

Ran across this on ebay.

It comes from Europe. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a roller like this before? I don't know how fast you can go with it or how bad it would tear un the comb. When my electric knife goes, I plan to upgrade to a planer, but this for a buck? What do you all think about the roller?
