I don't know how bad the winds really are today.  My guess is 30mph.  Not good weather for a cut out or moving the protein tub hive I cut out last weekend.  Oh well.

Wasn't my dealership.  It was in Midland, TX which is experiencing a huge boom with the price of oil.  Anyone out of work that needs a job can get one there.  They are paying premium for good drivers, operators, roughnecks, routabouts.  You name it.  I'm not surprised about the loose hose.  They had so many oil field trucks that they were working on, all of them wanting finished now.  I was honestly surprised they hurried up my truck.  I thought they wouldn't have it finished until Monday.  Can't blame the mechanic.  Anyone working under that kind of pressure is going to make oversights.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, but not connecting the filler hose to the gas tank could easily be a deadly error.  I would have a problem with that.  Maybe management should have some responsibility for safety even in a booming economy.  Dripping gasoline around a hot exhaust pipe and catalytic converter is a deadly combination.  I’ve seen cars burn the ground in no time flat.  Once they start there is no stopping them.  You best be somewhere else.

Didn’t Midland, TX almost go bust in the 1980s?

Yeah, I was fully aware of the danger and of what could happen.  I suppose I should make them aware of the issue.  I'll sleep on it over the weekend.  All is well that ends well.

Midland has been a boom/bust town ever since oil was found there.  The oil, as I understand it, from that area is expensive to refine and only profitable when the price of crude gets above a certain point.  It's been there for a while.  Midland is booming.  You cannot get a table in a restaurant or a hotel room or a rental car or around town during rush hour.  They are out of housing.  People are living in towns an hour away for good employment.  When the price of oil goes down again, and it will, they will carpetbag back to where they came from and the town will bust.

Fish in the oven about done.   Watching BSG on BBC.   Can Am loaded for the mud bog in the morning.   Bored to death waiting for my wife to come home to show us where she placed our mud clothes from last week.   Still dreaming about bees.

Well Allen, if you’re bored to death, then go up into the attic and get down that Van DeGraaff generator so we can get to work  Smiley

Wasn't bored today.    Wore my butt out riding all day.    grin

I will spend tomorrow after church cleaning, washing, looking for broke stuff on the machine and pulling the brakes that I lost by mid day.    Gotta love it.
