Got up at 6:40. My 6 year old has been up for about 1/2 hour at that point, running his fingers over the register for most of that time, brummmm brummmm brummmm
Get the kids ready for school, get them off to school. Its my 6yr's day off from kindergarten, he's not happy because mom's still in bed, sleeping in a little. He's ready to be up and get all his snow clothes on and go sledding in the yard. By himself. In the dark.
As I'm sliding in on the roads, I just try to remember that even as much as I despise driving on slippery roads, the kids LOVE that snow!!!

Dang Ken, hope you survive OK. When's the last time something like this happened? Wishing you much luck man. Wear your flippers, snorkel and goggles, looks like ya going to need 'em. Are you out of harm's way? You have a boat right? Rick, your kid is going sledding in what? A bayou? Thought I'd post for Schawee: Its 4 am and I'm in bed dreaming of drinking a 5lb vanilla shake. Wonder if Burger Delight would make that for me? Probably would, wait, I know they would, what am I thinkin' I'm their best customer! OK, its 5 am, still wondering about the 5 lb shake, woke up in a sweat thinkin' maybe they couldn't do that, but hey, if not, I'll just have two! Its gonna be a great day! That's probably pretty accurate I'd think. ...JP

Jp, Fortunately the water stopped its creep just as it got to the front door. This happens every few years, the last time was when the remnants of Ivan went through in 2004 dropping massive rainfall on the mountains. This resulted in water depths of about seven feet in the front of the shop,to about four feet at the rear. Its such a job moving cars, unhooking computers, loading tires, stowing the heavy stuff like tire machines, balancers, pipe benders and so much other stuff, only to turn around and put it all back. But at least this time we only had to sweep dust instead of a prolonged exercise of scraping mud before you move back in. However me and one of the other guys had some free time this afternoon and took the broom and hose to the parking lot and rinsed away the mud and crud as the water receded today so cars could be placed back on the lot. I will be looking to get a good nights sleep tonight after being awake for the last 38 hours or so. But I will be stopping back in to say Coffees ready!!

Ken glad to hear y'all dodged a bullet. We get a few floods now and again down here, there was this little storm that came through in 2005 named Katrina... ...JP

Good Morning all. Just having my second cup I'm waking the family ,then off to work for a "normal" day I hope. It was 22 overnight and it should be mostly cloudy with snow showers today.Seeing just a little snow blowing in the air keeps Christmas in mind right now. After New Years it gives different thoughts though!

Been up getting ready for a weekend hunt to Tensas National Wildlife Refuge in north Louisiana. Buddy and I are gone hunting for deer with black powder, been a while since I've been up there. The weather will be very comfortable, no breaking ice to get to your stand on this trip! They have black bear there, a good bit, hope I see one, haven't yet but friends have. Y'all have a good one! ...JP

What, not content with starting the longest thread with the word association post? I didn't even recall starting that thread Rob. Whatever man, like i said, this is a morning thing for the most part, just to see who's up and about and what's going on with their day. If you don't like the thread then kill it, fine by me. ...JP JP You getting OLD TIMESRRS BEE HAPPY Jim 134

Good one Iddee! Washing clothes from my trip to Tensas. I saw a deer for a very split second yesterday morning and then it was gone. That was yesterday morning. three out of five of us saw bears. One of those I heard running through the palmettos at 3:15 in the evening after a rattlebox of a truck went down the road and spooked it. My buddy saw the bear at 3:16 and said it was coming from me to him. Got to within 9 yards of his tree. Bear sign is everywhere up there! Teddy Roosevelt would certainly have gotten his black bear in there today no problem, if it was legal now of course. Now I'm up and washing clothes and getting ready for a really long drive up to see... Guess who? Hint: he has a real strong accent ( ) has to watch what he says (according to his own signature) and is the trap out master. ...JP

JP has been kidnapped and being held for ransom in NC. You folks better start taking up a collection to free him or I may just keep him tied to the deer stand forever.
