Your best bet is to try and hit some Mom & Pop hardware stores. I'm sure the big chains can order you some, but if your like me I want it yesterday . I have found a small hardware store in NE Georgia that keeps it in stock and will gladly cut you off however much that you need.

Yes, a Mom & Pop store that is in a area were they have a market for # 8 and can/will cut a roll is the best bet, just find one of those now a days !
I keep seeing on these boards;
References that Ace Hardware Co. has # 8 hardware cloth in less than 100 ft. rolls.
Would someone please state " Address " of these Ace Hardware stores that sell less than 100 ft. rolls.
True, their online CATALOG shows 10 ft. rolls, however, calling their main office, they say " Sorry, Misprint, its only available in 100 ft. rolls "
My experience, course I've been wrong before.

The Ace in Deland, FL has it and will cut it to length but it's pricey...$5/ft @ 36" wide. The same Ace will sell 100' rolls to me for $99.

I have a local store in Raleigh, NC that sells it fairly cheap (I thought). 25' roll for $19 (I think). They also sell by the foot, but at the 25' roll price I couldn't pass it up.
Brushy Mountain also sells it, and ships it.

Several years ago Betterbee used to handle it, then they stopped.
I was hopeing they had some in stock again. I believe the price then was $19.99 for 10ft, but the shipping to Missouri was almost as high as the wire.

That is why I bought a 100' roll from Brushy Mountain last December when they had free shipping

If your only using it to close off ventilation holes than why go through all the trouble for #8, just use metal window screen.

ask your local friends, I think everyone has a story about some hole in the wall hardware place that has _______ whenever they couldn't find it at the home despot, builder's scare, or that other one. (the mom and pop theme is on the money)

Country hardware stores. It's old stock, I don't think they can get any more. Call ahead next time your headed out to the boonies (or maybe you're already in the boonies). I found a 100' roll for about $25.

I have ordered some from Mcmaster Carr and the price wasn't too bad. Then I found it locally at a small hardware store. The wire diameter isn't as thick but it works well for SBB, and no shipping charges.
