Hi!  I just wanted to introduce myself to the Beekeeping forum.
My name is Helmuthd (short for Helmet Head...ya know, your hair gets messed after you take off your motorcycle helmet after a long ride)

I just started my first hive last week, and I am really excited about bees!  So far so good, I just found and marked the Queen today   Smiley  Smiley

I got into the whole bee thing when I came across a new hive in my backyard tree.  Interesting and fun.  I did some research, and read a few books.  They recently swarmed, and I was able to catch the swarm from the nearby bushes and put them into a new hive.  what luck!

Its a small swarm, the Queen looks great, and theres no signs of disease....so far so good.   cheesy

Welcome!

You are sooooo lucky.  Hoping to catch a swarm myself this year to go into my extra hives I purchased.

Just getting started also. Hives will be here in about two weeks and the bee shortly there after.  Can't wait.

Good luck
