Hello/Intro - Western New York

I'm a pre-hive-owning beginner.  I plan to get two hives in the spring, so I'm in the phase of absorbing all the knowledge I can.  I live in a rural area in Niagara County, in western New York state.  I'm not looking to harvest much honey - it will just be an interesting hobby for me, and I hope to help increase the general bee population.  Looking forward to poking around in the forums and finding out what's what!

Might I suggest adding your location into your profile? That way, every time you ask a question your location is put in there too. Alot of beekeeping is local, and your location will help give better answers.
