Not to change the subject, but has anyone gotten "it's a small world after all" stuck in their head? Geez that's annoying grin

I haven't had "the song that never ends" stuck in my head for a long time - whats really strange is when that happens (I? others?) can't make it stop until I've seen or sung the complete song; OR if I get it stuck in someone else's head.
About the student: I think you had equal chances of being right; he may have been abused, he may have been a big crybaby. For some reason it's become stylish to whine about how your parents screwed you up. Some folks have legitimate complaints, others need to be called on being crybabies, told to build a bridge, and get over it.

My mother is always asking me something or other about how badly she raised me.

I do not know what she thinks she did that was so bad, I really don't remember anything. I do know I was punished in one way or another when I did something wrong. But I feel she did the best she could.

I don't remember much of my child days. Had to sweep it out to make room for other stuff.

Just how does one hang on to "wrongs done to them"? Seems like a lot of baggage to carry around. Forgive and forget is my motto  grin

Geez, thanks a lot! My kids had me on that one for months and months. I didn't realize it had finally left my head until you just reintroduced it again!!!!

Who knows about that kid? Maybe he was just being dumb; maybe he had been beaten silly as a child. I have to guess that the people who were truly abused by their parents don't dink around with scribbling about it on bathroom stalls, though. But, what do I know?

More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

How about......"We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine."  grin

Oh yeah..   And all the other Beatles songs at one tim or another, but my worse "stuck" tune was and still is "Another one bites the dust"...   Or my dad's favorite saying, "$hit in one hand and wish in the other and see which one gets filled fastest...
