Hi All: I recently got pooped on by a ton of bees that were swarming from a feral hive in a neighbors tree. I couldn't resist the opportunity to calculate the odds of this happening and created a posting on my garden blog about this experience. As bee keepers, I'm sure some of you may have had the same experience, but for the average guy this would be really unusual. Anyway, the posting is meant to be humorous and done in a spirit of fun. If you want to have a look, it's at the link below to my backyard garden blog. [Note: Administrator to add link - Have submitted a request since I'm new to the forum] http://www.plantertomato.com/2010/06/odds-of-being-pooped-on-by-bees-1-to-352-million.html

I would venture to say that the swarm was right after a few days of rain, thus forcing the bees with protacted constipation to go on the go.

Hi Annette:
My guess is you just didn't notice it. If you were suited up, you might not have felt it. I was laying on the hammock wearing shorts and no shirt. I felt it.

I got pooped on my face by a seagull the day before my wedding. That was good luck. I am sure ( ) it must be good luck with the bees also.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Interesting... I wonder what the odds of beeing a beekeeper are? Of course many of us are just plain odd... I really detest the smell of bee poop..YUCK! I'll change my shirt if I got one spot...that smell just don't quit. Rick
