Casino Loving Swarm

I had a fun call about a swarm of bees on a casino boat! I was going to let this one go and let someone else get the swarm, as I had just had some molars cut out and I have to admit that I looked more like a chipmunk with had wad of food in it's cheeks than a beekeeper! Not to mention the fact that I was not able to talk very well. But out of nowhere, the strength I needed came to me like magic! I grabbed my gear, tossed it into the truck and headed to the casino to meet the swarm.

Of course it was one of the extra hot days and very sunny....my meds from the dentist said for me to 'stay out of the sun'...and I thought that I could handle the heat. When I arrived and finally got all of my gear through security at the casino, I was still going strong, but after I found myself on the hot metal deck of the barge, well, I found out why the warning was on the label of the pills they gave me....whew!

Needless to say, the bees were very docile and they listened to me very well when I whispered under my breath for them to just get into the box and make this easy on all of us! No one was stung, and I had lots of watchers....looked more like security for the President than a casino to me, but everyone was so nice and friendly, and I had lots of questions about bees and beekeeping...which I always like to answer. The ony complaint was that I was video taped....and they always make my butt look bigger than it really is...honest....it IS THE CAMERA that does it!

The bee are now happy in their new home....and yes, they seem to be pure Italian bees.....

Good catch and glad you didn't pass out!

On a side note I actually did get security clearance to fool with bees in a light post during W's administration. I'm not kidding in the slightest, a judge had worked all day she claimed securing clearance and the secret service was informed that this may take place.

It was in Lafayette Square in New Orleans.

I told the judge I was not about to put the president at risk and take the chance at being tackled by the secret service. Because of the scope of the job, they decided to hold the meeting elsewhere.

I have a video of the capture, but darn it, my butt looks so big..... The other thing is that I dont know how to post videos on this site and I am still learning how to work these new programs on my new (improved version) computer; the told computer took a direct lighting strike and is now in computer heaven...I hope...I loved that old computer!

I have to admit that I got some goodies from the nice folks at the casino after that swarm was captured and gone.

Can you believe it that 'everyone' who seeen my swollen up jaw that day, thought that I had already been stung by those terrible 'killer bees'?  It does not make pretty pcitures to be all puffed up like that! Take a look at my DL photo! Ewwwww!
