From the title of the thread,  I thought this was going to be something about a new law or special interest relating to honey by Obama.  instead it's just Obama fanboyism and contrary responses.

I was mislead,  I want my money back.

and the many thousands more that will lose their jobs by shutting down rigs.......

So I found this link where you can get all of the underwater cameras' feeds:

http://climate.the-environmentalist.org/2010/06/live-video-feeds-of-gulf-oil-disaster.html

Yes! it's a tree hugging site, but the feeds are not biased. It just looks like we have more oil flowing, and flowing and..
Until these companies can successfully plug this hole then NO Drilling! Why you wouldn't climb in a car with no brakes that couldn't stop. Would you? Throw the kids in the back...

You're right we need more drilling. This mess is nothing compared to what we can really do.
...and the many thousand who will lose their jobs in the tourism industry, the boating industry, the restaurants and hotels...all industries that support these industries, and all the ones that rely on people having a little cash to spend...All of these Southern states that are being affected by this and soon to be 1/2 way up the East Coast too.

http://www.allgov.com/Top_Stories/ViewNews/Gulf_Oil_Spill_Could_Reach_as_Far_as_North_Carolina_This_Summer_100605
(not a tree hugging site, so I don't know if I can believe this....)

Maybe that'll change some opinions about more drilling, in Virginia or anywhere else on the planet, no let's stick to mountain top removal for clean coal, that is totally clean and never affects anyone...
The Martin County Coal Slurry Spill

and 8 years later:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/12/26/tennessee.sludge/
Looks like the mess isn't even began yet.

So yeah let's get drilling, after all, if you believe in the "Rapture" then we get a new earth after it is all done...right?
What if you're wrong? then what? Ooops! "It wasn't my fault, I believed! Can I get a refund? Oh let's blame the government, they should have had rules, watch dogs, $^*?"

We kill our planet, but we love our kids! "Here kids, here is the dump we left you!"

....and the grand kids! Suckers!! " What will you tell them?:" Oh we had clean water, birds, trees, bees, fish, no really food grew out of the ground...The Sun used to be a joy to soak in at the beach... What? What's a beach?"

I believe in FREEDOM. Mine stops where that of another begins! I believe in PATRIOTISM, I love my country and would die for it if needs my protection from armies to terrorism, to wing nuts and environmental desecration of our great nation!

The little things that make the whole are right there in your pantry, your cupboards, your driveway...the little things that we can do to help out...those tiny things that when repeated 350 million times amount to huge things...No keep on believing that you are being hoodwinked and that it is not in your hands to do something...be led, look the other way when you don't like what you see, only see the news spewed on the tube, the distraction, the lies...It all goes back to the greed that fattens up the greedy.
I believe that our armies are the best in the world, staffed with proud people who put their necks out for all of us, for you guys to keep b*tchin'...These men and women are the heroes, they go gladly in combat to hold up our flag, support them don't just pretend, write the letters to the front, send the care package with silly things in it! Help the neighbor who son or daughter is not coming back!
Don't pretend...don't JUST pretend.
I believe in free markets that can stay within the lines of Honesty, Integrity and basic fair play. Not free banksters and big businesses who governed by greed are raping this society. Yes Keep your guns I don't want them, no one wants them, it it make you feel better to go shoot something, do it! If you want to shoot someone, join the army, do it for a cause! They need more soldiers!
I just find it appalling that hypocrisy is so rampant, but I also think that it is just plain ignorance. a mass of people fed lies often enough will believe these lies...Heck some still think that we needed to go into Iraq, Saddam killed 100s of thousand of people...this war did that in no time! WMD's still missing, you'd think we'd have found them by now. Thanks Dick!
Stop with the talk and get moving! The right wants a revolution, the left wants a revolution...So let's go!
Yup stop those wind farms! In case they spill  the resource, but hey that'll be a breeze to clean up!
Yup Solar is a pipe dream...Just go to the garden hose sitting in the sun, hot water...free, no emissions...Fancy that!
No get in SUV on a nice sunny day and keep it running when you go in the store, nice and cool! But hey thanks for polluting MY air.
My AC: 4-65! 4 windows open, 65 miles per hour. Doesn't quite work in the parking lots but I try to stay out of my car in those things...

Yes! you're right Obama can't stop the leak...and he is not alone, neither can Cheney, Bush, any of the oil cartels or even Palin Where is she on all this?
Or maybe we ought to turn to prayers, if enough people get on their knees and pray, really pray, I mean pray like your life depends on it! This will come to pass...
I am somewhat skeptic, but I'll give it a try...
What a mess!
Our shores, our forests, our lands, our mountains, our rivers, Our country!!
Our country, America, the beautiful...what a mess we've made of it.
What a sorry legacy we will leave behind...
We as in ALL of us. Every single one...
Oh but I do so love my bees!
We wouldn't pollute our hives, but we don't give a dam about the country they are in..

Sorry for the rant, I don't want to pick fights with anyone, I just told it the way that I see it. Of course I am probably wrong on most of this, I am wrong a lot. and I am also an hypocrite, I like having the lights on at night, I will go for a pleasure ride in a car, bike or a boat,
I do recycle but not like I could or should, I try to not to look away but sometimes I do. I throw stones and wish I hadn't. I is part of the problem.
That's freedom of speech. I love that too.

Sincerely,
Oliver LeBras

rant on.  we might as well enjoy it until the govt gets control of the internet  evil

thing is, it's not an either/or proposition.  how much easier would this have been to stop if it  had been on land, or in more shallow water?  why are they forced to drill so far out?  how much more oil is spilled each year by tankers that bring oil to us because we will not drill our own.

if the same accident had happened in Anwar, would oil still be spilling and how many people would be impacted?

BTW...your lights are probably kept on by coal....the other evil energy source  grin

Even if you don't agree with a particular president's agenda its still cool to say you shook hands with the president.

Congratulations on your experience Bruce.

Ditto with JP

I could find no higher honor than having a photo op with a sitting president.  The fact that I voted for the man is just a bennie.

A handshake opportunity? Once I get my first harvest, He might find himself holding a bottle of my farms first honey crop as a gift.

Yes folks, I'm a yellow dog.  But while I am a democrat, I would have also have liked to have met Bush Jr, or Sr for that matter. While I disagree with a lot of their politics, they both seem like very decent men.

I don't get very impressed because someone has a different occupation then I do. Presidents aren't elected they are "appointed" by who I don't know. A friend of mine who works for the FBI told me over 12 years ago Obama was going to be president and back then he was a nobody.

All a plot by the man I say.

I grew up in Arlington, Texas and met Bush Jr at the Petroleum Club in Ft. Worth when he gave a talk.  My son was an award winner in the Boy's Club of America and had lunch with the then owner of the Texas Rangers as a prize.... Bush Jr.

That being said... I never bragged about meeting Bush Jr and I know where the polaroids of my son and Bush Jr are they are in the bottom of a box in the basement and not likely to be moved anytime soon.

I am SUCH a extreme greenie liberal I just got back from the PRIDE parade with my daughter and grandkids.

I have framed the signed Christmas Card I got from Barack and Michelle and if I got to shake hands with him I would be in liberal, extreme greenie heaven.  How awesome is that?

Congrats.  I know it must have been a thrill.

Does it really matter what party they are?  Their all crooks, ever last one of em.

They say anything to get there then do all they can to make sure they can make as much money as possible from all the loopholes and special programs they helped create.

political parties are for the birds.

speaking of obama and honey though, will his majesty be addressing the cheap China honey issue or not?   (I figure on the not.)
