I don't know why I haven't noticed these ones from previous years.  They are very proliferate in the landscaping around my house and, apparently, quite popular with the honey bees.  Very pretty too.  The lime green pollen adds to the purple/green contrast nicely.  cool  They are short flowers (~2') originating from plants that look almost grass-like with their bunches of long, slender & green leaves.  Hopefully someone can venture a guess from the following photos:
