Beekeepers of Volusia County Florida had its first meeting last night... An organizational meeting.  The next meeting is Wednesday February 24th at 6:30 PM at the ag center in Deland.  Monthly meetings will be the 4th Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM.

About 30 people attended.  Officers were selected.  All beekeepers are welcome.

Have fun,

Ed

The best part of having grandbrats is I now have people my own age to play with.

Sorry I missed it Ed, work kept me in Orlando late. I'll surely mark the calendar for next time!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

My parents spend the winter in Deland.  I'll be coming down in April, but will be leaving on the 15th, so will miss your meeting.  I have a beekeeper friend in Orange City,  I'll see if he and my Dad want to go.   I can get you some promotional material for this forum and the monthly podcasts if your interested.
