Washing machine belt change help.

Front loader, fixed motor, 1/4 inch slack for fine adjustment. Belt goes from motor vertically to pullley, Idea is to put it on motor, rotate pulley and ease the belt on.

Problem is that the drum is in lock out mode. Wont turn inside, wont turn at the back. Its an awm5080 and the manual online is of no help, its more a parts guide. I reackon I have to do something to get it into neutral, like a button sequence or something. Not much online about front load belts, its all top loaders.

If i remember correctly,the motor is on a spring loaded pivot and you just stretch the belt over drum and pulley. If it is neptune type I'll see if I still have a manual for this.
I used to work on some of these at a commercial laundry.Pumps were the biggest issue with a stray bra underwire on occasion.
Are you sure the tub bearing is okay,does it spin when you tubn it by hand from inside the door?

Mick, I had an issue with our front load washer. The repair manual was no help. I went to Google and typed in my problem. Bingo, someone had posted a detailed repair procedure.
