Will bee's feed on dry sugar in climates like florida this time of year.  We have a bunch of colonies down there that need feeding.  Problem is we wont be there to fill feeders.  My question is if we fill top feeders with dry sugar will they take this until things start to bloom.   This is only survival feeding not build up feeding

Here in GA it got too cold for the bees to take syrup even after trying to stimulate them with Honey B Healthy.  I dumped a couple of bags of sugar on the inner cover with a medium on top with the outer cover on top of that.

I don't know if it is going to work but will be lurking and learning on this post and will let you know how it goes for me.

Former beekeeper until March....maybe next year...RIP

Have you tried patties?  THe ones with brewers yeast and the like? I live in Honolulu and when things stop blooming I use those. They work great here, I don't have time to check them very often.
