Exactly, in fact you might want to do what I do, and just PRETEND that you are putting a tiny tiny bit of vegemite on the bread, and then cover that all up with NUTELLA instead!! MMmmmmm.....Nutella!

BINGO! Vegemite at my front gate today! I put a little on a ritz....Tasted it.....Then I wasnt sure, so I did it again...Then I put it on thick enuff to make a ritz sandwich....I used a whole sleeve of Ritz trying to figure it out!..Ate about a third of the first jar...Its very unusual...every time I ate some I had to chase it with more..Oh, bloody hell,...I think I'm gonna hang with you blokes from Oz! After awhile I'm gonna go eat some more vegemite! your friend, john

Well, how many of you looked at the u-tube clip of that gal tasting vegimite that Twt put in his post. I almost killed myself laughing when I saw the look on her face and the gagging that continued on for quite a while, intermittently. Maybe I have a warped sense of humour, but boy oh boy, was that ever funnneeeeeeeeeeee. Beautiful days, to love and live, health. Cindi

Woo hoo!! Welcome to Vegemite heaven Johnnybigfish, great to have you aboard! Here's the vegemite on toast I had for breakfast this morning: http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/4494/vegephoto.jpgSome Aussies have it a lot thicker, a few have it a bit thinner than this. But for Annette, I suggest you go with this kind of strength or less and see how you go. Note the butter - don't be shy with the butter now, it all adds to the experience!

Isn't it some kind of yeast by-product? Did I miss something? What is the health benefit of this stuff? Clarify, elaborate. Cindi

Hi Cindi, Vegemite is a beer brewing by-product: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VegemiteIt helps us Aussies shear sheep, grow hair on our chest, wrestle crocodiles and generally be good blokes! In my case it helps me push a pen around a desk and type reports all day. Doh!

OK what is a malt sandwich?? I think you are going to have to send me a package like that girl received in that video. By the way that video was precious - very very funny!!
I'm not ready yet to try it a second time. Due to this cold I have now, I have lost all my taste buds. Will have to wait a while. Will let you all know when I try it again.
