This involves reading?  Surely you are out of your mind.  Our congressman do not even read bills before they sign them much less some brain dead 23yo kid or oblivious soccer mom.  Currently there is a proposed resolution to require none emergency bills to be viewed for reading for 72 hours by congressman and citizens before going to a vote.  It does not have the 218 signatures required.

Please someone give me a good answer for why a congressman that has OUR best interest in mind would not sign this petition?  It really hurts the arguement that these people are doing what they actually think is best for the country.  To me the unwillingness of a congressman to sign the petition for H.Res 554 is blatant proof that they are corrupt and not operating with the countries best interest as a priority but rather personal gain.

Does people not reading something and being ignorant really surprise anyone?

You might want to check with your congressman and see if he has signed the petition for H.Res 554 and if not WHY?

.....The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called the government. They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....
