The blind beekeeper Huber, discovered/observed  abt. 1786, that natural mating of the bee took place in the air !

By Aug. 18,1789 he and Bonnet were discussing suitable ways to fecundate a bee tho it was many years later when Loyd Watson was able to accomplish it.
