Hello,
Introducing myself from Yorkshire UK. I currently have 6 colonies and two nucs. All of which are currently on the North York Moors - where I hope to get the best honey of all: heather.

When does the heather (my oldest daughter's name) bloom on the Moors? Must be beautiful!
My family has been in Wisconsin about 170 years, by way of Vermont, and West Yorkshire before that. Maybe you know of Firbank, NE of Lancaster. Supposedly, the ancestral region.

Thanks for the kind welcome. Here's my hives on the NY Moors. All are British Nationals, which have great hand holds for lifting (Well here they would have been if I had privileges).

Welcome to the Forum Andrew,
It is wonderful community here and all so friendly and helpful.
I used to go to school up there and my mother lives there now (Helmsley)
Actually I am a newbee too and have 2 hives hoping to be 4 next year.
I am actually located in the hills behind Nice in France.
The only difficulty I find with the majority or "beeings" on this forum is that the seasons are so incredibly different in different parts of the world one has to watch to see where some one is located to work out what they are talking about. My winter here could be about 3/4 months at the most. Where as north USA about 6.
Today 9 Oct I have 27 deg (night time temp 15)and my bees are foraging fast at a rate of 60/85 per min
There is double the pollen arriving flights that there were in July and Aug.
Any way good luck and enjoy this great community
