After listening to Michael Bush's presentation at the Northeast Treatment Free Beekeeping Conference, I have decided to build a 3 deep frame observation hive (see Michael's presentation at
http://www.bushfarms.com/beeshas.htm). The design I plan to use is based roughly on the design from Beesource:
http://www.beesource.com/build-it-yourself/3-frame-observation-hive-2/.
I am trying to decide if I should have the glass slide down the panel (as shown in the design) or if management is easier if at least one side of the hive has the glass installed in a panel that is hinged.
Thanks,
Tim Huntley
