Actually it looks like he lost some color as he aged. Is he still very tame like you can cuddle with him and such?

Hes fattening up nicely.

Old Jabbinade from the NT would "cook im up quick" Slap its head on the ground, onto those coals for 30 seconds and down the hatch. Old Jabba also liked witchetty Grubs and mangrove worms. Mangrove worms taste like a cross between someone elses snot and someone elses vomit.

If you can track down docos from Malcolm Douglas, you will learn more about Australia in an hour than most people do in a lifetime.

They do lose the green as they age Annette. Here's an adult, in fact, I'm pretty certain this is a picture of mine's father "Ice" http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/dd169/Varnyard-Herps/Chacoan/?action=view&current=DSCN3512.jpg&sort=ascending

Hey Mick, Cindi suggested you come by my place before we meet up to head her way for a good old fashioned duck/chicken hunt, but seeing you got a taste for lizard, won't we just meet up at your place? Hey, I heard kangaroo taste a lot like chicken, no? grin

He could get 5' or larger from nose to tail tip, his daddy's 5' 2" long. They can get 20lbs or more.

Eat your heart out Mick! grin

Jody, he has his main house where he sleeps and his feeding bin. He usually poops in his feeding bin. In the morning after he has awakened and caught some rays (basked) he livens up and is ready for me to pick him up and bring him to the feeding bin.

After he feeds, I take the food away and he climbs up on my arm, then my shoulder. I bring him to the spare bedroom where he lives and let him roam on the bed and play hide and seek!

He lets me pick him up no problem, even rub his head some, as he does not see me as a threat.

He's one of the coolest pets I've ever owned. I guess there's no chance of me growing up anytime soon. grin

JP, brat!!!  You and Mick keep away from my ducks!!!

Wow, JP, that is one beautiful little critter you got.  I loved in the first picture how his top part of his body was a different colour than the rest.  And then, he has a striped tail, holy smokin' cadoodalhoppers.  I  think that is just the coolest thing.  I love lizards.  As I kid I can recall going to my Auntie's house, where it was hot and dry and catching little ones.  Beautiful pictures, you take care of that little beast, beauty.  Have that most incredibly wonderful day, to love as their narry was a tomorrow, great health. Even though I am not the lizard type, I know I am sorry but they make me a little nervous, he is cool looking. How long do they live for usually and what types of problems if any are they prone to?
Do you ever have to take your reptiles to the vet?
We have a new vet at the nature center here in town called the odd pet vet and he apparently sees any type of animal but if you don't have one of those in your area will a regular vet see your lizard if its sick?
I took my kids to the fishing derby the other day and a woman there had a lizard(I don't know what kind it was) in a holster that was pinned to her shirt.
That was the first time I had ever seen that.
