JP he is beautiful!  I like the way the markings on the side of his jaws look like big smiling teeth!  Do they shed their skins like snakes?  How often if they do?  He looks very nice against the purple blanket!  It's amazing how much he has grown in such a short time, you are a good "Dad"!

Tomorrow, October 10, 2009, Beauregard will be 4 months old. He was hatched out June 10, 2009. Today he measures 30". He has tripled in size since I acquired him.

The items in the pics are for scale. The shoe is 12", the cane knife 20 and 1/2".

HE IS GORGEOUS!!  Lots of great pics there.  Kinda messy eater though, looks like he has BBQ sauce all over his face!  I never knew they could make the fork in the tongue go together like that!!  Love the hat ones and where he is exploring with his tongue.  Was that a Whoppo knife??  evil rolleyes happy Birthday Beau!

Jody, he's actually, in fact most tegus, I've come to realize are not messy eaters at all. You should see them eat. They wolf down a bite then wipe their mouths side to side on the bottom floor of their feeding bins. You just happen to catch Beauregard with his pants down! He's normally very anal about getting anything on him, a veritable Mr. Clean, he generally is.

The fork is at the end of the tongue, scary huh?

I don't believe I could take a knife to a legend like Whoppo!

JP, you got some gorgeous looking Beauregard there, very handsome, can't believe how fast he is growing, how big will his end size be?  You'll have to get an pen for him outside your house, smiling.  Jody, good observation about the knife, I am sure that JP had other ways in his mind though to try and get Whoppo, or any of my ducks for that matter, smiling.  Have that most incredibly wonderful day, health.  Cindi

Cindi, Beauregard's daddy is 62" long, so perhaps he may get near that size. I never knew an animal could grow so fast!

I miss Whoppo. Cry

JP, wow, now that is one big honkin' Beauregard Daddy, holy smokin' cadoodalhoppers!!!  Hope his son, Beauregard gets that big, and I can bet your bottom dollar that he does.  Something that grows nearly as fast -- Muscovy ducklings.  They start out about the size of a golfball when they come out of the egg, within three days, they have doubled in size -- within 3 months they are a full sized duck!!!  Now that is some fast growing, let me tell you.  I don't believe for a minute that you miss Whoppo!!!  Smiley  I sure don't  grin.  Have that most wonderful and beautiful day, with great health.  Cindi

Doug, that's a beautiful bird you have!

Did any of you hear of the lady that traded a bird and $175 for two small children? I heard it on the news yesterday.

...JP

At 12 weeks, up to 14 weeks, after that time a new set of feathers develop and it makes it harder for the abattoir to do the job.   Tender, young, but full sized duck by 12 weeks.  Have that wonderful, great day, health.  Cindi

Thanks JP! I've had snakes and a 15 year old Mexican Red Leg tarantula, so now I have just settled on a bird, cat, fish and the bees. Thats enough at the moment!.

Really cool lizzard though... your the only one that I know that has one!  Smiley
