Ahhh yes, PETA ....they were having a fit cause the Vet conference people were going to the Pike Place Market & gonna watch the fish sellers toss the DEAD fish around..wanted em to use plastic fish. Some of em painted themselves like fish (topless women I might add....) & rolled around on the ground. The only real media attention they got for that was from the "perves" taking pics with cellphones. JP if we came to your side it would take the fun outa it! Jody

Give me a normal ugly woman over a super model peta princess any day of the year. A roll in the hay only goes so far. The topless peta girls would have made good bait for catching dinner of some type.
Seriously though, most of these peta members are probably just young kids sowing their oats, trying to find their place in another world far removed from normalcy.
After a few years or so, most will probably see the light and come back down to earth, then they can go topless and it will mean something to real men.
Anyone wanna see more pictures of Beauregard? Took some yesterday.

Yes JP, more pics. His new home is very nice, lucky Beau! How big is it? Are those wood or paper shavings? I like how he lurks in them, do they like to dig in to hide?

JP I had no idea they grew that fast! His color changes a bit too as he gets older. So how much does he eat? Do you keep food in there all the time? How often do you feed him? Inaquiring mind wants to know!

Jody, this is my first Tegu and I am amazed at the growth rate as well. His colors will continue to change as he ages. So far, he has eaten every day but one day since I've had him, 38 days now. We have a routine. When he is hungry, he climbs onto my arm, then shoulder. I have a seperate feeding enclosure I made that's 4' long 2' wide, approx 2' tall that I bring him to. I always have his food in the feeding bin before hand. This is to ensure he does not associate my fingers, hand, me, with food. I make a batch of 1 lb of ground turkey, 1/3 calf or beef liver, tablespoon of cod liver oil and mix it up in food processor. I ziploc 2-3 day portions and place all this in a gallon bag and place in the freezer. Its a very simple diet. Once a week it is recommended to feed a frozen/thawed mouse/rodent. I have fed him three very small mice since I've had him. I also sprinkle a calcium supplement on the food to keep bones strong as well as use special lighting. I feed him once a day. ...JP

Well now Irwin, you trying to start something? I see Mick is rubbing off on you! Stick with Jumbo green Iguana, they call them "chicken of the tree" in Brazil. They are vegetarians, Tegus are scavengers and probably taste like dead rats. Leave the Tegus alone, you don't want rat breath do you? ...JP
