It's a small opening surrounded by lush green foliage. Half an acre mowed with 6 apple trees. Rabbits, Deer, lots of insect eating birds... I usually start my day here with a cup of coffee.

Very nice. Now that I'm 3 boxes high I see why you shouldn't use 2 1/2 ft tall hive stands. That's the good thing about the top bar hive - always the right height.

Either you take very good care of your equipment or it is mostly new?? Is that fence surrounding the hives electric?

Equipment is fairly new(3 yrs) with a good exterior grade paint. Electric fence max's out my tester at 5000 v. Even if you THINK you don.t have bears you probably do.

It helps with inspections. I'm not sure if it's a good thing but... I set covers, inner covers, and sometimes a medium super on the beehive next to the one I'm looking at. If I set anything on the ground it picks up ants quickly.
