I caught the snake!

As a young kid, my younger brother and I were always in the woods, pond or swamp. My father was from Texas.....so, we would bring home ALL animals or reptiles...fish, snakes and turtles. My mother had a very large hutch? in the cellar with water tight draws....bad....filled them with yellow perch...and as kids do, we forgot about them..you know..doing something else..until the smell got bad....old fuel tank cut in half for all the turtles....even though one snapper was 42 pounds. The killer was a box of nonpoisonous water snakes...shedding for the year. This one snake escaped outside and blind from the shed...smelled water from the faucet of a 94 year old neighbore. The scream heard around the neighborhood ...........I had bottom welts for two weeks.
