gotta wonder about these folks. do they know what flys crawl over and eat? how do they feel about having the fly that just crawled around in the carcass of a dead animal, crawling over their food. maybe a little fly poop in the pasta while it romps around dinner? wonder if they mind the e-coli from the cow crap mixing with the salad green?

"Nay, it [this constitution of government] must perish, if there be not that vital spirit in the people, which alone can nourish, sustain, and direct all its movements. It is in vain, that statesmen shall form plans of government, in which the beauty and harmony of a republic shall be embodied in visible order, shall be built up on solid substructions, and adorned by every useful ornament, if the inhabitants suffer the silent power of time to dilapidate its walls, or crumble its massy supporters into dust; if the assaults from without are never resisted, and the rottenness and mining from within are never guarded against. Who can preserve the rights and liberties of the people, when they shall be abandoned by themselves? Who shall keep watch in the temple, when the watchmen sleep at their posts? Who shall call upon the people to redeem their possessions, and revive the republic, when their own hands have deliberately and corruptly surrendered them to the oppressor, and have built the prisons, or dug the graves of their own friends?
– Justice Joseph Story, "Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States," Volume II, Chapter XIII: Mode of Passing Laws, Sections 900-901, pp. 364 (1833)

I recommend each PETA member house and care for a few nice, sociable rats carrying the plague flea. I think that would be a great service they could do for all of us.

Good thing that they never showed the video where Bush actually pounced on a bunny hopping by and tore its head off with his teeth. But I'm sure that it will be coming out soon.

No, it means something about him attracts flies. Of course, a lot of rotten things do that.

WOW what an eye opener.
Until now, I had known PETA for taking action against dropping perfume into puppy dogs and bleep cats eyes, trying to end Bears kept in cages with taps inserted into their bile ducts, the cessation of eating brains from a live monkey and such things. All worthy and noble causes.
Now I can understand the Bhuddists thnking that a fly might be a relative reincarnated.
But I cant understand idiots thinking swatting a fly is cruel.
I suspect they are organising a field trip to feed spiders flies that have died of natural causes.

Mick, PETA is extreme to a t. If they only were acting on the outright abuse it wouldn't bother me. I wouldnt' check out their website unless you have an iron clad stomach. They tend to pick the most offensive material to prove their point.

It makes perfect sense to me that swatting a fly would upset peta, because swatting flies is what human beings do. The peta organization (cult) is anti human, this is where their mind set has evolved to. Its a seriously debilitating faith where its members are angry at the rest of the world for being what they used to be (human) before they joined this cult.
Most staunch peta members are vegans that don't eat any animal products whatsoever because in their warped thinking it is wrong to take any life and abominate it in any form, even flies on a pile of fresh rotting stench.

The last time a President got this much publicity related to a fly going down was when Bill Clinton was in office.

That pretty much verifies their complete ignorance and denial of reality. Anyone who can observe how the earth and its inhabitants live is aware that everything eventually dies and gets eaten in order for life to go on.

I'd be willing to bet they don't fly on airplanes because airplanes kill bugs and birds all the time. That would be hypocritical for them to do so. ...JP
