Thanks Mick, that was very interesting!  I know they are difficult to raise, I didn't know about the head color preferences!  They are sure beautiful birds, too bad there are so few left in the wild!  J

Wow! Those are beautiful!
They remind me of the painted buntings in this area, although your finches have more brilliant and contrasting colors. Thanks for the link. Smiley
