Take down the bird feeder
« on: June 09, 2009, 02:54:10 PM »
>> I bought a bird feeder. I hung

>> it with seed. What a beauty of
>>
>> a bird feeder it was, as I filled it
>>
>> lovingly with seed.. Within a
>>
>> week we had hundreds of birds
>>
>> taking advantage of the

>> continuous flow of free and
>>

>>
>> But then the birds started
>>
>> building nests in the boards

>> of the patio, above the table,

>> and next to the barbecue.
>>
>> Then came the poop. It was
>>
>> everywhere: on the patio tile,
>>
>> the chairs, the table ..
>>
>> everywhere!
>>
>> Then some of the birds
>>
>> turned mean. They would
>>
>> dive bomb me and try to
>>
>> peck me even though I had

>> pocket.
>>
>> And others birds were
>>
>> boisterous and loud. They
>>
>> sat on the feeder and

>> squawked and screamed at
>>
>> all hours of the day and night
>>
>> and demanded that I fill it
>>
>> when it got low on food.
>>
>> After a while, I couldn't even

>>
>> bird feeder and in three days
>>
>> the birds were gone. I cleaned
>>
>> up their mess and took down

>>
>> Soon, the back yard was like

>> more rights and free liberties.
>>
>> Just my opinion, but maybe

Take down the bird feeder. Whatever you pay for, and focus your attention on, flourishes. I have no problem with immigration if it's legal, and the immigrants bring something to the party. I do have a problem with them coming here illegally and being parasites on the system. I have the same problem with many American-born citizens, of all flavors, being parasites as well.

Last night on the news they talked about new free goverment sponsered cell phones for the poor. God knows no one can live with out one of these.  Its free money time here in the USA.  Just think of all the jobs that these phones will make. Also they talked about low income and no-income housing FINALLY getting new kitchen cabinets and counter tops all from FREE money

Geez- I didn't hear about that one.
I will lay odds that they have to be replaced again in, say, 5 years, because when you get stuff "free", the tendency is to not take care of it.

I read a statement that was attributed to the prime minister of Australia; true or not I couldn't help but enjoy the logic of it.
He is said to have said:(paraphrased) "If you would like to change this country into the one you FLED from-please feel free to enjoy another of the freedoms we have here - the freedom to leave."
I'm not sure there are any politicians in America with that same kind of directness and perception.
be happy and make others happy.

THE END IS NEAR!!! Me and Dragonfly agree on something political in nature!  The apocalypse must be just around the corner!   :-D

Sadly, we don't have politicians who are willing to stand up and say what is on the minds of many of their constituents. They instead, pander to everyone, illegal or not, in order to get more votes.

And yes, the quote, even if paraphrased, was indeed said. I can't recall the guy's name at this moment, but it's a true story.

Last night on the news they talked about new free goverment sponsered cell phones for the poor. God knows no one can live with out one of these.

It's not really a new program... I've been seeing the ads on T.V. for nearly a year now (speaking of which I wonder why they are advertizing it on T.V.)

I'm not sure how this program works though... it may not actually cost taxpayers nearly as much money as we think.
For example, it could be a requirement for the cellular service providers to provide free service for this program... which doesn't really cost them any money because they have the infastructure in place anyway (except in cases where the extra network useage makes them upgrade the bandwidth of a particular cellsite, but that's not likely to be a major issue).  Also, the phones themselves could be refurbished or recycled phones instead of new ones.  Still, it is ridiculous for the govt. to supply a luxury item like a phone to people at all.  Of course it's no worse than when I see people using food stamps to pay for T-bone steaks, then using their own money to buy beer and cigarettes.
