Just mix

1 part bone meal 1 part wood ashes, with 3 parts cottonseed meal.
apply 1 to 2 table spoons full every 4 to 6 weeks.
should handle any nutrient problems.
Just make the ashes have not been leached out. if so you loose the potash.
Cotton seed meal is for nitrogen.
the rest will be history.

what's leached?
Can I expect to find cottonseed meal at the feed store? (is it pricey?)
I'll give it a try next cycle.

CORRECTION
after looking at my formula table, raise the cotton seed meal and ashes to 5 and leave the bone meal at 1.
cotton seed meal ---7.00% nitrogen---2.50% phosphorus---1.50%potash
bone meal-----        4.00%------------21.00%---------------.20%
ashes---------------0.00%------------1.50%-----------------7.00%
Leaching is when you have a substance or material, and water runs through it and washes out some part of the whole.
In the case of the ashes its the potash.

Remember how I told how to make manure tea?
Same thing, bag the manure in a sand bag or burlap and sit it in a bucket of water for 24 hours.
Take the bag out and you notice you have colored water. The nutrients are in the water.
Repeat two or three times and the water will not be as dark.
Then you can use the leftover manure for humus. Just work into the soil.

Leaching is how you make acorn meal. to leach the tanning out.
Bring poke salad to a boil and pour the water off, (3 times)
Don't eat poke salad after it gets big enough that the stalk and leaves stare to turn the reddish color.
You can make ink or die from the poke berries.

yup, I keep hearing about manure tea, not just here.
my soil was practically sand to begin with  I still havent had the ag dept out to do a test. Lots of oak leaves to compost - but they take a while.

You can take the oak leaves, or any other material. Put it in a black plastic bag and add a little water.
If you have some green grass clippings add those. Plus something that has a little Nitrogen.
Or you can shred and till into the soil and add a little Nitrogen. Decomposing takes up Nitrogen.

you can add blood meal to your compost as well and it heats it up nicely
