The secret life of flies
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:12:53 AM »
Well, one of my coworkers who knows I'm a beek finally convinced me to rent the movie "The secret life of bees".  So I rented a copy from the redbox and got an immediate chuckle.  Right on the cover of the DVD is a hover fly instead of a bee.  I tried to find a picture of the DVD cover online, but it appears that the ones in google images are different, so I had to take a picture of this one myself... I'm not sure if the DVD came this way originally or if redbox made this specifically for their own DVD's of this movie.

But still it was a decent movie anyway, chick-flick though it may be.

It was an excellent book, and since Kidd is a woman, I would expect it to be geared more toward a woman's taste. I doubt I'll watch the movie version because movies based on really good books just don't seem to measure up. I love Kidd's writing style, and if she churned out a book per month, I would buy every one of them.

I feel the same way about her books.

Anyway I was just curious about the fly on the cover. It sure looks like a bee to me.
