Do y'all have a word that you just can't ever spell correctly? Mine is the word ocurr.

I do spell check, and this word stumps me for some strange reason, every time!

Well?

Man, it got me again!

I spell well, but for the life of me I can't pronounce "rural" without feeling as if I sound like a 2-cycle engine trying to start. Try saying "rural rural rural."

Irwin, its thoughtful for you to do that.
While some normal misspellings never ever bother me (and I do it as well without realizing it)its the ones that are so blatant that they are not even real words that are annoying.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up, dang!

And then there are those words that you've spelled a million times, said them too, then you put them down in print and something just don't look quite right, like its an alien.

I guess the mind just tries to complicate things sometimes.

Well, thanks for the feedback!

Gosh, there are so many words, but thank god I have my husband around.I am always asking him how to spell words.  Even the simpliest words are so hard for me to remember these days.  As JP says, sometimes they look funny and I just forget them.

Is it congradulations or congratulations???  Never get this right. Is it Richie or Ritchie.   Here is one that really gets me: I am rooting for the winner. Is it spelled rooting???

I used to be much better at this, seems I am getting worse and worse.

I consider myself a good speller, when spell check knows what I'm trying to spell.   It is those words that spell check can't identify that give me heartburn.  rolleyes
