2 Tablespoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons coarse ground black pepper
1 teaspoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Combine all of the ingredients, seasoning the brisket 1/2 to 1  hour before cooking on the grill or in the smoker.

This recipe should be enough to cover a 10 lb. brisket.

This dry rub mix will keep for several weeks in an airtight container.

I just love the combination of spices here and I am going to make up a spice mixture like this for myself.  I am a vegetarian, so I may try this on something else. (like sprinkling onto tofu before frying in olive oil)
