Allow me to chime in as a newbee. I hived my first ever 2 packages on Wednesday, here in the Seattle area. It was above 50 degrees, but just barely. I saw a little bit of activity on Thursday in the form of a few coming and going, like you've seen. On Friday, it warmed up a bit, and there were literally hundreds of bees doing orientation flights in front of and around the hives. Saturday you could see them really coming and going from somewhere, and today I filmed a good half hour of video of the close up and could clearly see them coming in with several types of pollen. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I'm having a ball watching the video of my girls....LOL. Hey....we watched video of the kids' soccer and baseball when they were young.....is this so different?
