Im a "Biker" Now!
« on: April 16, 2009, 11:07:28 PM »
Janelle talked me into (sort of, cuz I was game!) getting these! They're Scooters!
Cheaper than harleys, but still pretty fun! Mines the blue one!
We gotta get licenses now!...Today, when we went out to practice, we even had our first experience with punks!
They came at us and hollered and revved their engine up! Made us really feel like we "Belong" to the 1%s! Tomorrow I attach my Rifle boot!

john

Gez, I'm getting old. I remember when only 3 of those helmet styles were available and which one you wore depended upon which city or state police agency you rode a motor for.

Here in Washington, if the 2 wheeled vehicle is under 100 cc displacement, no driver's license endorsement is necessary, but a license for the vehilce is still a must.

Why do racers stick that knee out? Seems like a good way to get crippled.

I'm mostly trying to keep from driving into the bar ditch....Thats when I put my knee( I mean foot) down...I keep putting my foot down on turns sometimes too. Dont even know if I'll have to do a figure eight or U turn during my driving test.
Here where I was looking at helmets!

So they can turn better at faster speeds.  Sticking the knee out lets the rider lean the bike further over while counterbalancing the centrifugal force.

John, nice.  In Canada we don't need a licence to drive a scooter, just a regular licence does fine.  I think the "bike" has to be over a certain cc before the driver needs that particular licence to drive, weird.  You should double check it out, maybe in the states only a regular licence will allow you to legally drive the scooter.  Anyways have fun, they are a blast to drive, I love them!!!  Beautiful day in our great life, health.  Cindi

JBF, trust me when I tell you this my friend. Go with a minimum of a 3/4 helmet, full helmet is best, the little bowl on the top is comfy and maybe a little cooler looking but offers no where near the protection a 3/4 or full helmet offers.

Please protect your noggin my friend! and Jannelle's!
