Howdy all!
We just finished putting together our first top bar hives (a fellow homesteader and myself).
I put together a little
top bar hive tutorial
if anyone would like to see it.
I'm not much of a carpenter, so bee kind
.
Now if I can only get a call for a swarm I'll be in business! I can't wait.

the hives look good! The only thing I can say is that you might need a few more holes for the bees to use as an entrance. You could put one more on each side of the one you have now, and then plug these until the bees neede them.

I wouldn't put any holes in it... I'd just push the first bar back 3/8" to 3/4"...
