More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

Cable is great.  We just got upgraded to 3mb download/256kb upload.  Love it.  Had Satellite, the download speed was great but the time lag (earth to sat to earth) was about a second and so live chat was horrendous.

Our cable TV company/isp has had fiber optic cable lain to our house for almost a year now.  But they have had trouble getting some kind of relay system or something about two miles back from us to work and don't know when we'll get hooked up. Cry Cry Cry

The phone company is also putting in fiber optic around us.  But haven't made it this far yet.

The anticipation is killing me.
