My bet is on Plain Stupid. I'll take that bet. In 98-99 I was on deployment with the Carl Vinson. We had to high tail it out of Hong Kong because Saddam was...well...being Saddam. (Think Operation Desert Fox. On the way to the Gulf, we watched CNN to see what was going on and if they said anything about us (our ship). They said something to the effect of the USS John F. Kennedy is on the way to the Persian Gulf... Funny thing is, the JFK was, if I remember correctly, in the ship yards having a mini overhaul done.  Dorks.  The Impeccable huh? Never heard of that one before... |

I say treasonous more than stupid. Our wonderful liberal media cares more for ratings and the bottom line, all compete to be first in reporting and to be the best in hype at the expense of others. They care less about facts and report lies and half truths. When they do report the truth, it aids our Enemies, sometimes it embarrasses us. Also, there are some treasonous weasels in our Armed Forces that leak out information vital to our Defense. Keep in mind the Medias disdain for GWB for 8 years and the Slobbering Love for Obama thus far.

Still not as bad as USS Liberty in 67 Israel conflict. Fired on and bombed by ISRAELI in unmarked aircraft the Liberties decks running red with many dead and wounded rescued by Russian Navy who fired on the attackers and escorted limping Liberty to safety. The story was bried and it was years before the crew were secrety decorate and told to keep their mouts shut. This does not come from Wiki. Cheers , it can be a rotten world sometimes.

mick, there have been a number of docs made about it. fact is, we still don't know the truth. i don't know why it has never been fully investigated and made public. i don't believe the whole jewish conspiracy thing, because it makes no sense. most likely explanation, in my opinion, is that it was bad intel on someones part, or several someones. chances are that we were doing something, or being somewhere, that we probably should not have been...and that's just a guess based on the fact that we have gone to some lengths to keep it under wraps.
SH in war. even so, it's nice if the truth eventually comes out.

That whole area of the Gulf of Tonkin right up to the Vietnam 3 or 10 mile coast line is claimed by China now. That area was U.S. aircraft carrier operating sea ,nicknamed Yankee and Dixie stations, during the Vietnam war.
BTW Bill O' Rielly predicts the N.Y.Times will go bankrupt this year due to their liberal attitude. What happened to the term loose lips sinks ships? jimmy -xnavy
