Hello (hola) from Spain
« on: March 02, 2009, 09:02:35 AM »
Hi,
I started beekeeping three years ago in Vigo, Galicia region, Northwestern Spain. My mother had bees until I was something like ten years old but I did not participate, all I did was play with the vintage manual honey extractor. I'm 39 now but somehow that childhood honey smell must have made  an impression.
I am a friend, and occasionally give a hand to, Antonio Simón Sopeña, a fourth generation organic spanish beekeeper, whose family introduced the Langstroth hive in Spain by the end of the 19th century.

hi!  Spain must have a going beekeeping community.  we have had several members from Spain.  the pictures of produce make my mouth water :-)

welcome.
.....The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

Bitterbierce.  Welcome to our forum, so nice that you have found us.  You have been held under the spell of the honeybee since a young child, that is plain to see, you are taking care of the bees.  We are all held under their spell.  Stick around, this will be a place where you can spend great time, tell your stories and tales, and make new friends.  We all love to listen and tell our stories.  Have a wonderful and most awesome day, life, love our life.  Cindi
