The only problem is, the rays are not fish. Fish have a hard backbone, rays have a cartilage type backbone. They are grouped with sharks, paddlefish, Etc.

Is it a boat or a ship? Not technically, but I would understand your story if you called a boat a ship, although a friend of mine used to correct me whenever I called a boat a ship, lol.

You trying to tell me that sharks aren't fish??

That is a cool looking freshwater fish.  I'm only used to seeing those in saltwater.

Jodi, I don't think you have to worry about anything like THAT over here.  Although theres some pretty big muskies and sturgeon they aren't likely to assault a human.

Do a search on giant paddlefish, catfish, sturgeon, gar and maybe some others and you'll find our local beauties...but I'm not worried for my life swimming with them.  Maybe riding a boat down the Mississippi, but not swimming.

Hey, I just noticed I was a "Queen Bee!!" :-D :yippiechick: :bee:  We don't have pike here per-say, maybe introduced by people in some lakes somewhere. There are Muskie in Lake Tapps, saw one dead before, they have some teeth!  I think they introduced em to control the carp or something like that. In my fantasied I think of strapping some raw dripping meat onto someones leg before waterskiing...someone I don't like if you didn't get that part! There are sturgeon in the Columbia, good taste but the meat is sort of like shark so takes some getting used to. Sooo, still not goin in the water..nope, nope, nope!

Sharks aren't classed with bony fishes since they don't have bones only cartilage but they are still considered fish.

prior to jp posting this link I was always under the impression that the largest was the Arapaima Gigas, but now I see that it's the largest scaled freshwater fish.
