Mountain Camp method of feeding.

I have been using the Mountain Camp method.
But, I lay down a Mann Lake pollen patty first and pour the sugar over the patty. The bees love it!
I mixed the sugar 50:50 using granulated sugar and Drivert.
C & H Drivert is about 4.0% invert and it readily absorbs moisture.
I made some feed rims last year that are 3/4" deep with an ACX plywood cover.

PRO-Leen is the new phagogastic stimulant that mann lake is offering with there beepro patties -i think it is like honey bee healthy-(they wont say)-i suspect lemon grass and spearmint or wintergreen -the bees go for it right off and consumption is way better than before the bees are clustering around these patties in feed rims like you would not believe -it is almost like they cant resist the stuff- i am still waiting to see if they make any more brood or not but so fare i have had to spend more on patties because they are munching them like no tomorrow -the pro-leen is at 4% RDY-B

Ernie, good idea.  We'll have to call that the "MountainCamp Method - Lucas Variant".   

I think I may try that next year if I need to feed and see how it goes.


I had some that I'm trying to limp along this winter too, and snapped a couple photos of their status today.





Will watch to see how they do.  These hives are light.

The cluster must be tight. So far they have consumed the sugar.
