New from Cary, NC

I moved to Cary, NC this year and bought a house. I have already added raised garden beds, planted 15 fruit trees and still have blueberry and blackberry bushes to put in the ground. A neighbor has a warre hive and that gave me the idea of getting some bees for myself. I do not have any hives yet, but I am interested in getting 1-2 next year to help pollinate everything.

Manfre. Welcome to our forum. So nice that you have a little property where you can keep bees. Your bees that you will get will help to improve your crops, that is absolutely a wonderful thing. Our forum will be the place where you can learn all kinds of stuff, we love to help and give advice. A place where you can tell your stories, tales and experiences. We are a friendly group, here you will also make some new friends. Stick around. Enjoy this place in time. Have a wonderful and awesome day, great health, Cindi

Welcome to the forum!
This is a great place to learn more about bees & beekeeping. The tutorials on the main Beemaster page were among the first things I read when I became interested in beekeeping several years ago. I also use the 'search' function a lot: many times I find that I can get an immediate answer to my question in previous threads. Lastly, I recommend getting involved with a local beekeeping club. Clubs are good places to find mentors and get connected to nearby beekeepers. Plus, clubs often offer beginning beekeeping classes. There are a number of local clubs in North Carolina:
