Giving the gift of honeybees

Since it is the season of giving, I thought I would pass along a unique opportunity to give the gift of honeybees. There are plenty of places and wonderful charities that will accept donations this holiday season but few offer honeybees as a gift option. I discovered one that does offer to provide honeybees to struggling families as a means of potential income.  If you are interested, please check out their website and do any other due diligence necessary before donating.

Our club did this last year, but I don't think it came up this year - and that's a shame.  I'm going to have to bring it up at the next meeting.  It's cheap, only $30 per hive.

I love the idea of this. I just did this with Heifer for the first time last year and you can donate in the name of whoever you want.
 It beats all the commercialism surrounding Christmas to give a gift that changes lives.
This organization has been around for quite some time and have done some great things.
They have a whole bunch of options, different amounts of money you can spend on different animals and they will give you a card for the gift recipient explaining what the gift was.
I think for anyone who has not done this yet they will be surprised at how much people enjoy getting something donated in their name instead of another necktie or something else they really didn't need but you didn't really know what to get them.
The bees are a great gift to give.

Never bought a hive, but have purchased goats and chickens and the like through this organization.
I truly hope and pray these items make it to where they are supposed to go(for all charitible orgs). So many charities dont do what they are charged to do.... This org has been around a while and has great reputation...
