sad but true, although i had to laugh at the opening paragraph.  because they believe they did a good job, they don't believe they bear any responsibility for the voters lack of knowledge.

it would be nice if people took time to be informed, but the sad truth is that most turn on the 6pm news and what they hear is what they know.  the MSM failed miserably in this election to do any kind of investigative journalism except when if came to palin.  i suppose they figured everyone knew about mccain, and they didn't want to find anything to tarnish "the one".

there are some pretty stupid people out there on both sides, but liberals seem to consistently be less informed.  i believe it is because they make political decision based more on feeling and less on fact.  i base this observation on the emotional tirades found on the admittedly left wing sites, printed press, and cable sites.  anyone would be hard pressed to find actionable facts interspersed in the vitriolic yammering.

"Nay, it [this constitution of government] must perish, if there be not that vital spirit in the people, which alone can nourish, sustain, and direct all its movements. It is in vain, that statesmen shall form plans of government, in which the beauty and harmony of a republic shall be embodied in visible order, shall be built up on solid substructions, and adorned by every useful ornament, if the inhabitants suffer the silent power of time to dilapidate its walls, or crumble its massy supporters into dust; if the assaults from without are never resisted, and the rottenness and mining from within are never guarded against. Who can preserve the rights and liberties of the people, when they shall be abandoned by themselves? Who shall keep watch in the temple, when the watchmen sleep at their posts? Who shall call upon the people to redeem their possessions, and revive the republic, when their own hands have deliberately and corruptly surrendered them to the oppressor, and have built the prisons, or dug the graves of their own friends?

– Justice Joseph Story, "Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States," Volume II, Chapter XIII: Mode of Passing Laws, Sections 900-901, pp. 364 (1833)

Sort of made me wonder who did the fact checking for his article.
But I have noticed now alot more digging is being done into Obama since he was elected. Seems to me atleast they wanted to get him elected then tear him down to sell newspapers

Oh ya, from the ones who published the fabricated story of the quran being flushed down the toilet by interrogators and caused riots that killed over a dozen people.  They also hired the founder of the Daily Kos as a contributor which is probably the biggest liberal hate site out there.   I think they have like 9 liberals to 3 conservative columnists.  And they wonder why their readership is dropping.
