I have also been printed but I was totally innocent. I just need a place to spend the night and ended up at the police station. (that was a very long time ago!!)

Sounds like one heck of a story in there somewhere.

Keith

18 years old, took a very long bus ride from Binghamton New York to Brattleboro Vermont to visit a boyfriend who had rented a house way out in the country with a few people. On the bus I met some crazy people, one who placed a "joint" in my pocket (I didn't know this).

Anyway the bus got into the town around 3:00AM and there wasn't anyone to pick me up at the bus station. (my friend thought I did not show up as he was expecting the bus around 11:00pm the night before (pre cell phone days). I did not know what to do and didn 't have any phone numbers and so I started to just walk. Well a police car came crusing by and asked me what was up and I told him the story and he offered me a place to spend the night - in the police station. I went along with him, but when we got there they discovered that there wasn't anyplace for me to sleep except inside a cell. So I agreed to sleep inside the cell, but they said they had to fingerprint me and take a photo of me and fill out a silly form. Regulations they said. (I sure was stupid at 18). They truly were very sincere. They also said I would have to empty out my pockets and show the contents of my purse. I emptied out everything and when I stuck my hand inside the pocket of my jacket out came the joint, but I quickly stuck it back in and they never saw it. I was just sweating bullets at that point.

Anyway I slept in that cell if you can call it sleeping as the drunk next cell over screamed all night long.Next morning the police car gave me a ride to my friends house.(I guess I had some directions) That's the story and I'm sticking to it!!!

I believe right after Annette spent the night in jail is when she started carrying the red umbrella and things went uphill from there, think about it, who would place a joint in a lady's pocket while she was holding a red umbrella?

I have a fondness for the ladies of our forum, their strengths, sharing, caring, opinions, knowledge and gentleness all make them a shining star that lights our path here. I once bowled in a league where we went against this one team ever 4 or 5 weeks, there were 2 grumpy old men on it that a team mate of mine and I would mess with - we'd bring a handful of change (mostly pennies and nickles and few dimes) and as the night progressed we'd toss a coin on the floor when no one was looking and then (true story) bet each other which of the two old-timers would spot and pick up the coins first  grin It was a great betting game, usually lead to TOO MANY DRINKS BEING BOUGHT by the loser between us, but we had a saying "On that team they had ONE OF EVERYTHING" old, young, fat, skinny, smart, grumpy, happy, quiet, and on and on!"

I always remembered the looks on their faces when they'd see change on the floor as if each time we'd play them, one of us had a hole in our pocket and they would benefit from our minor misfortune. The entertainment value was worth every penny to us - they'd step on the coin to hide it from the other and when they thought no one was looking, scoop it up.

The ladies of our forum are also, one of everything - they balance out each other with their uniqueness, they keep us braindead men in check, they bring prospective and insight from all spectrums and from it we get a balance that I'm proud to read and enjoy.

Annette sharing this story is her, as unique a picture as her avatar paints, her words fill canvasses. Indeed we are lucky to have diverse individuals, a round table of experiences, a palette of color that completes us - men need to see the world from the eyes of women, my wife brings great prospective to my molding into who I am and how I believe. She is my anchor that stops me from just floating away, the foundation that secures me to the ground and the reason each day I wake feeling fullfilled and not alone.

Our lady members run the gambit from far left to far right, yet the teeter todder always levels out - I think that is an amazing quality and Zen in a confusing world. Not to forget, if I ever tried that "coin tossing" on the women here, I'd get my butt kicked from one end of the forum to the other 20 cents into that head game. Let's face it, men are a bit predictable and sometimes not too bright and often lacking common sense - and that's why God made women, because most men can't see the bowling alley for the change on the floor  Cry
