Saw Feral Hive in City
«

Saw my second feral hive today. On our way home and stopped in traffic, looked up towards a light standard and saw the bees flying! At the Very top of the light standard was a hole. The sweet little bees must have an interesting hive inside the pole! This was on Highway 9 in Santa Cruz, CA
The first feral hive I found was in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. Bees living in walls of an old building...LOL

I like doing cut-outs, but I love catching swarms!

Would be a great place to put out swarm traps.

JP.
I was thinking I might find someone nearby who might allow me to place a swarm trap out near the light pole.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained eh??

Exactly Sharon! There may not be a huge amount of space inside the pole where the colony is (I don't know) so it may be prone to throwing off swarms often, go getcha some!
